How are You Using AI?

How are You Using AI?
Invitation to 3 Cherries AI Voyage Event on SS Gt Britain in Bristol

This is my take on AI in Business. I am taking it seriously and not "poking at it with a stick". I'm all in and have an eight-month start on anyone who is sitting on the fence.

Not surprisingly I’ve been asked countless times how I’m using AI. The question is usually a blend of curiosity or a search for inspiration. Here’s how I’ve been leveraging AI in my business, and perhaps it might spark some ideas for you too.

AI Isn’t Here to Replace Us—It’s Here to Collaborate

One of the common misconceptions I hear is that AI is coming to replace jobs. It will, but beyond that, AI is more of a partner. Think of it as a tool that enhances human capability.

In my case, I use AI for brainstorming, generating marketing content, analysing data, and lead generation. It’s like having a teammate with a vast knowledge base, allowing me to make more informed decisions. Better decisions, often faster.

My AI Partner Has an IQ of 155

Yes, my AI partner has an IQ of 155 (depending on what I ask it to do). Combining that with my expertise, we’re working with a respectable combined IQ of around 200. Sure you can use AI with your marketing strategy but unless you already have a level of practical experience in this subject you will not outperform someone who has.

I can ask AI to give me valuable insight into IT or Legal issues but I won't know what questions to ask and have the experience to challenge the answers. And you need to challenge the responses and know how to drive the conversation deeper.

AI in the hands of a specialist will produce 10x your value. The value isn’t just in the ‘smart’ part, though; it’s in how AI can handle time-consuming tasks, freeing me to focus on strategy and relationship-building.

How AI Prepares Me for Client Meetings

One practical way I use AI is for research. When I’m about to meet a new client, I use it to gather data on their role, interests, and industry trends, way beyond a LinkedIn profile. This gives me a better understanding of who I’m meeting, allowing me to prepare for the conversation and build rapport quickly. It’s become my secret weapon for first impressions.

Leading AI Conversations with Business Leaders

I’ve inspired and supported one of my favourite clients' Three Cherries become thought leaders in AI workshops for CEOs. This has given them a head start in this field, especially in the area of Cyber Security. In turn, the conversations this has created around AI along with the time I've invested learning about AI has given me a nine-month head start on understanding how to implement AI solutions in business.

In my view, apart from early adopters, the majority either think their expertise will not be threatened or they insist on "poking AI with a stick," unsure of its full potential and at best, sitting on the fence. I’ve seen firsthand how it can shift the way we approach strategy, execution, and the value we bring to the marketplace.

So, where are you on your AI Journey, or are you still parked up in the station car park wondering if you should buy a ticket?
