Have I built a job… while calling it a business?

A quick note before Christmas to say thank you for your support this year - whether we’ve worked together, referred someone, shared ideas, or simply stayed connected. I genuinely appreciate it.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and some proper downtime with the people who matter.
As we head towards 2026, I’ve been reading The Almanack of Naval Ravikant by Eric Jorgenson and it’s one of those books that quietly rearranges your thinking. It touches on themes like building wealth (not just money), avoiding status traps, creating leverage, developing “specific knowledge” (your unfair advantage), and training your mind for more peace and clarity.
The idea that’s really stuck with me for is leverage, especially for business owners.
We often confuse hours with output.
Hours are capped. Output isn’t - if you learn how to use those hours.
And the question I keep coming back to (for myself as much as anyone) is:
“Have I built a job… while calling it a business?”
Let's face it. Most of us rent out our time. Not just in employment - but even as a business owner. It’s the difference between working in the business (being the engine) and working on the business (building an engine that keeps running without you).
